Winterize your Haircare Routine
Did you know that you should switch your haircare routine during the winter? Well it's true. Your haircare routine needs to be drastically different in the winter than in the lazy days of summer. Here are some things you can do to winterize your haircare routine:
1) Add a Shine Enhancing Glaze Into your Haircare Routine
I love John Frieda's Luminous Color Glaze in clear. Haircolor can appear dull and flat during the winter because of a variety of reasons. Refresh and revive your strands with a haircare treatment. I like to use it weekly, but you can use it every time you shampoo for a daily shine boost instead.
2) Use a Deep Conditioner
Dry heat, like the kind coming from your home's heater can wreak havoc on your hair. It can dry hair out, leaving it parched, frizzy, lifeless or all of the above. My favorite deep conditioner is the Enjoy Hair Mask. This haircare product leaves my hair feeling amazing. I leave it on for 20 minutes or so for an in-shower haircare treat.
3) Switch Styling Products
In the winter, I suggest using haircare products like styling creams or gels that help tame crazy cold-weather hair, while adding manageability and shine too. A styling cream like Icon Antidote is perfect because it not only aids in styling, but it also restores hair with moisturizers, emollients and protectants. Use a haircare product like Antidote every time you style hair to keep hair healthy during these cold-weather months.
These are just small things you can tweak in your haircare routine to keep your hair healthy all winter long.
