Monday How-To: Chignons

Side chignon how-to. I love the side chignon. It can be dressed up to wear to a formal occassion or it can be worn loose and tousled for a pretty look during the day. Love the look too? Here's how you get it:

Step 1


Brush clean, dry hair back into a smooth, low ponytail off to the side and just under or behind one ear. Secure the ponytail with an elastic band.

Step 2

Twist the tail hair of your pony into a tight spiral.

Step 3

Then lift the spiraled hair up and coil it around the base of your ponytail, covering the elastic band.

Step 4

Continue coiling it around until you have just the very end of your hair left.

Step 5

Tuck the end of the tail underneath the chignon and secure it using bobby pins. Criss cross your bobby pins for extra staying power.

Step 6

Finish by spraying with a firm hold hairspray all over your style.
